What aspect of wedding planning was most exciting to you?
Hard to choose but certainly the florals, small nods to special people or memories in the details, the music (both ceremony and reception), and creating the overall experience of the evening.
What made you decide on Hazen for your big day?
In many ways, designing pieces for this day was the launch of the Hazen Bridal Collection. It was so fun to think about how I knew I wanted the day to look on March 30, 2019 but then also how I wanted it to translate when we look back on the images 20 years later. It went without saying that I wanted all of the bridesmaids to wear Hazen, it was just a question of how much and how we could make it super special (I thought the hair accessories were the perfect unexpected detail).
To create a secondary portion of the reception and make it feel like a separate experience, the bride and groom envisioned an after-party inspired by one of their favorite trips to Cuba. This part of the night was held in the Mansion’s ballroom. “We initially were supposed to drive my grandfather’s old convertible, but it wasn’t working, so we compromised and led a second line from the tent to where we had fireworks going off, and then to the ballroom,” says Taylor.
