Show Me Your Tailgate: SMU Edition

PONY UP! Being a Dallas resident and SMU alum, I manage to find myself, at least once a football season, on the Boulevard that stretches the length of Southern Methodist University's beautiful red brick, Georgian-style campus. The Boulevard has many pockets, from family areas to alum tailgates to the full-blown sorority and fraternity scene. The one thing that all of these pockets have in common is that they are decked out.  Maybe not over the top by Ole Miss' standards (blog post on that coming soon), but nonetheless, the catering is on display, the flatscreens are going and the girls are in dresses and wedges.
Now it's a sweet gift to be assigned red and blue as your school colors. If you know the Hazen girls you know we love blue and white and oh do we have our fair share of it! Thus, accents of red are the touch that bring this festive bar cart together. Fresh berries were the perfect pop of color and gerber daisies were the finishing touch. I found this precious pony piñata and festive pom poms in Dallas at Party Bazaar on Lovers Lane; the Pony Punch glasses are from Swoozie's. Need a good caterer for your tailgate tent? Consider Mi Cocina (always a crowd pleaser), City Cafe To-Go or make your own spread piecing together the go-to's from Short Stop (chicken salad, pimento cheese, etc).
While SMU athletics may change annually, there's one thing that doesn't-- the Boulevard is certain to be a good time!
XO,
Taylor Turner
