Real Hazen Bride: Margaret Kleinschmidt

In three words, describe your wedding style.
Ethereal, classic, botanical.

What provided the most inspiration for your wedding?
The venue itself! Our venue was built in 1870 and is surrounded by several acres of perfectly manicured gardens. I wanted to bring the outside in, so I had my florist make large floral candle rings and design an arrangement to go on the two mantle places. The eighth largest magnolia tree in Georgia is a focal feature as you enter the property, so I had a custom crest designed for my wedding invitations and cocktail napkins that incorporated blooming magnolia blossoms. My husband and I are both traditional, so the classic white house where we hosted our cocktail party and reception lended the perfect setting to dance to a little bit of Frank Sinatra and embrace some of our favorite wedding traditions.

What aspect of wedding planning was most exciting to you?
One of my favorite part of wedding planning was working with Eliza Bishop of Paper Eliza to design our wedding invitations, RSVP cards, pre-addressed envelopes, and custom crest! She designed several options and my husband and I had so much fun narrowing down our favorites! I feel like the wedding invitations were the first step in setting the vision that I loved for the day! Plus, supporting a small start-up business made my heart happy!

What made you decide on Hazen for the big day?
My mom has worn Hazen for years and I have always been attracted to the classic Southern charm and bold shapes of her jewelry. While I wore sentimental family jewelry, I wanted to give a nod to my Texas born and raised husband, and Hazen was an obvious choice. As I allowed my bridesmaids to pick their own style of bridesmaids’ dresses, I wanted a sense of unity among them, and the silver Claire earring tied their look together beautifully! The earrings arrived exquisitely wrapped in the Hazen bridal packaging; I thought they looked amazing on the tablescape at my bridesmaids’ luncheon.

Anything else?
A day-of coordinator is invaluable.  While my mother and I planned the wedding ourselves, we both knew that we wanted to relax and soak up the wedding day without worrying about any details. Tiffany at The Cedars is a mother of NINE children, and that training in controlling chaos showed on our wedding day; everything went so smoothly, and I owe that to her!
