In three words, describe your wedding style?
Timeless, Romantic, Sentimental (with a flair of fun and southern-style to show our personalities)
What provided the most inspiration for your wedding?
Honestly, our relationship provided me with the most inspiration. We planned our wedding in 4 months, so we did not have a whole lot of time to bring everything together and for someone as indecisive and scatter-brained as I am it was very overwhelming. I love to plan and host a party so I had a million ideas in my head, but they all felt impossible to execute in such a short amount of time in the midst of a post-pandemic wedding industry, and I quickly became discouraged. Caleb gently reminded me that the most important part of the wedding day was us coming together as one in the presence of God, our family and close friends. From there, I centered the day around our relationship with each other and our relationship with God and it turned into the most beautiful day that we will never forget. We chose a ranch in the Hill Country, because it is our dream to own a ranch in the Texas Hill Country. We went boots and bolos for the boys and jumpsuits with bold earrings for the girls to show off our personal style. We had ginger jars and an array of pink flowers to show our southern-romantic style, but added in disco balls and a neon sign to show our love of the seventies. We chose to end the night with a firework show among all our guests instead of a traditional send-off, because it just felt more like us. Lastly, we chose worship music to walk down to and to take communion together to center our ceremony around God in order to represent how we want Him to be the center of our marriage. It was the best day and I am so glad I chose to focus on taking inspiration from our relationship rather than trying to create a picture perfect day.
What aspect of wedding planning was most exciting to you?
As silly as it may seem, planning all of the outfits and the fun little details that our guests could take home as souvenirs! I love fashion and getting to plan an outfit, so it was so exciting to get to put together multiple looks for my wedding weekend (yes, I had two looks for the rehearsal and the wedding haha). I had so much fun putting together a timeless, elegant ceremony look and a more fun, southern style reception look. I equally love a good souvenir (my friends and family can attest that I am so sentimental that I keep everything), so getting to pick out and design those little details that our guests could keep forever made me so happy! My favorites had to be the matches (I collect matches from everywhere I go thanks to my Mema and Papa who started the tradition) or the custom stir sticks of our dog, Blue!
What made you decide on Hazen for your big day?
The jewelry that Taylor creates is timeless and elegant, yet fun and unique. This is exactly what I was going for when creating my wedding looks. As soon as I tried on the Liza earring with my dress, I officially felt like a bride. It was the perfect missing touch to bring the timeless wedding look I was trying to create together. Additionally, as soon as I saw the Lively earring from the Valentine collection, I knew I had to have them to wear with my rehearsal outfits and my reception dress. I ended up also wearing them on my bachelorette and honeymoon. They were so much fun and the perfect earrings for a valentines weekend bride! I cannot wait to wear them even more in the future. The Hazen girls also helped me so much in picking out the perfect bridesmaids earrings (I wanted something fun, yet elegant to match their jumpsuits), flower girl gifts and mother of the bride/groom gifts. They even beautifully wrapped each individual piece for me! It was an honor to get to wear Hazen on the most special day of my life and to get to gift such meaningful pieces to people that are so dear to me.
