Q & A with Taylor

Q: What keeps you going on long days?

A: Knowing that others depend on me to get my work done, and knowing that by the grace of the Lord, my work is greater than simply the sum of its physical parts.

Q: What inspires you?

A: It sounds silly, but everything! From a sunrise to a flower to a beautifully decorated room, there is inspiration in colors, shapes and textures everywhere. Being in the jewelry industry, I would definitely say that fashion trends oftentimes point you in a particular direction, and then I creatively adapt that trend to reflect my personal inspiration.

Q: What designers are you crushing on these days?

A: You can never go wrong with the classic looks of Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera. For airy, summer looks, Johanna Ortiz and Dolce and Gabanna have all the feels. For cozier, winter looks, Lela Rose always creates the most feminine collections.

Q: What do you do in your spare time?

A: We love trying new restaurants in Dallas, going on walks, cooking, and honestly, simply working is such a joy!

Q: Where’s your favorite place you’ve traveled?

A: Visiting Italy was definitely one of my most inspirational trips. Within the States, vacationing in Rosemary Beach, Florida is an all-time fave. I'm traveling to South Africa for my honeymoon this Spring, so I'll definitely have to report back on that!

Q: Where do you get your personal style?

A: I would say I draw a lot upon past fashion, be that looking at images of what was worn in days gone by or sorting through my grandmother’s closet of vintage beauties. I also enjoy looking at recent fashion shows to see how designers have interpreted timeless pieces differently.

Q: Where do you shop?

A: Hmm, that’s hard! I am a big fan of resale and consignment stores. Dallas has some wonderful ones! When it comes to pieces to fill in your closet, Zara is a go to. I also love to pop into Market or Elements in Dallas to see if there is a keepsake piece I can add to my closet. I very rarily buy something with the intent of only wearing it for one season. In fact, I don’t know that I’ve ever done that!

Q: Where’s your happy place?

A: Beachside in Rosemary Beach
