Real Hazen Bride: Katherine Griege

Katherine Arvesen and Ryan Griege wed on December 3, 2022 at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, TX.

In three words, describe your wedding style? Classic, Charming, Christmas

What provided the most inspiration for your wedding?
My friend, Kiki Burns Wallace, married her husband at the Adolphus Hotel ten years ago (for the Adolphus Hotel’s 100th anniversary). I thought her wedding was so special and elegant; I knew I wanted to have a similar wedding if I got the opportunity to have it there one day. This year, the Adolphus Hotel turned 110 years old. Ryan and I wanted to get married in 2022, and a December wedding would fit perfectly in our timeline. The Adolphus had one opening, December 3rd, left for this year. I immediately reserved the date and felt so lucky because we were only six months out at the time. I was extra excited for the December date because it meant we could have a Christmas wedding. Having it at Park Cities Presbyterian Church was a no-brainer because I grew up going there and love the poinsettias
in the church during the advent season. The Adolphus made the Christmas theme easy because of all the beautiful decor in the hotel. Eden Harkins, my wedding planner, helped me execute the Christmas idea into real life. I could
not have done it without her!

What aspect of wedding planning was most exciting to you?
The most exciting aspect of wedding planning was doing it with my mom, Malinda Arvesen. I am the youngest of three and the only daughter in the family. My mom and I are very sentimental, so every aspect of wedding planning was special to us. My mom went above and beyond with making this event special for Ryan and me; she attended all of the vendor meetings, discussed all of the details in-depth, and found my wedding dress (last one in the nation at Carolina Herrera!). She is very servant-hearted and goes the extra mile for everyone. I will never forget seeing my
mom tearing up while watching me pose for the camera during my bridal portraits at John Cain Studio. Those are the moments I never want to forget. Thank you mom for all of the love, kindness, and sacrifice you made to make this wedding special for our family, friends, Ryan, and me.

What made you decide on Hazen for your big day?
Having known Taylor over the past five years, it was an easy decision to make when selecting who I would use for my jewelry. Taylor and the Hazen team do a great job creating traditional and timeless pieces. I selected the “June” earring for my bridesmaids, and Liza Earrings for my wedding. We are pleased with our selections and cannot thank the Hazen team enough!
